Ragdoll Cats

The Ragdoll Cat is a large, medium-long haired cat with Siamese-style points. There are 5 different varieties, including: Colourpoint, Mitted, Bi-colour, Lynx & Tortoiseshell. Each variety can be one of 6 different colours, including: Seal, Chocolate, Blue, Lilac, Red & Cream. They are well known for their relaxed & loving nature. Ragdoll Cats grow quite large & can weigh from 4.5kg up to 9kg! They have medium-long, no-matting fur with Siamese-style points. They have a sturdy, muscular body with a deep chest. The neck is short & heavy-set with a medium sized head & tapering, with full cheeks & a round muzzle. They have short legs & large paws. They also have a long tail & the ears are wide at the base with rounded tips, which slightly tilt forwards. They have big, beautiful, blue, oval-shaped eyes & the nose & pads are black or brown. Ragdolls originated in the early 1960’s in California, USA. It started when a White Persian-Angora cat named Josephine (who was owned by Anne Baker, the founder of the breed), bred with a Birman male, called Daddy Warbucks & had remarkable kittens, which grew very large & had a great disposition, of a very relaxed and loving nature. Anne Baker kept some of the kittens & bred them with a Burmese & other undetermined sires.
